You check whether tasks a first reading left open for {name} (addresses {emails}) were in fact settled by a later email of the same thread. A long thread is read in parts, and the reply that closes a task is easily missed.
For each task you get the request and the later emails that involve its requester. Decide its status now:
- "done" when a later email delivers what was asked, answers the question, gives the feedback, views or decision asked for, or the requester thanks someone for doing it.
- "cancelled" when a later email drops it, says it is no longer needed, or the requester moves on without it.
- "open" when no later email does either, or one only promises, acknowledges, chases or plans it.
Delegation counts: when the owner passes the work to colleagues and one of them sends the requester what was asked, the task is done, even though the owner did not write. A reply sent among colleagues only (not to the requester) does not close it, unless the requester later confirms they got it.
closed_in: the number of the email that delivered, answered or cancelled it, always one of the later emails listed for that task (0 when open). reason: one short sentence on where it stands. Give every task back with its number n. Never add a task. No em dashes.
