Sell what the news is about to hurt. Buy what it's about to lift.
Finad reads stock-market and world news all day on your computer. It works out which stocks each story moves and flags two things: stocks near their 52-week high that the news is turning against, and stocks near their 52-week low that it's turning in favour of. Alerts reach your phone.
Near its 52-week high while war and Middle-East shipping risk hit travel demand, and rising oil adds to costs. A slide back to the 52-week midpoint would be −14%.
Beaten down to 7% above its 52-week low while escalating conflict lifts defense demand. A recovery to the 52-week midpoint would be +23%.
How it works
Every 15 minutes Finad reads about 20 news sources, including CNBC, MarketWatch, WSJ, FT, NYT, BBC, Al Jazeera, the Federal Reserve and Google News, plus company news for every stock you hold or follow.
- ReadEach story is processed as it arrives. Watch it happen in the Live newsroom.
- ConnectFinad finds the companies a story names and its tone (beats, raised guidance, upgrades, or misses, probes, recalls). It also detects 30 world drivers, such as oil, rates, tariffs, war and AI spending, and the stocks each one helps or hurts.
- ScoreIt weighs every story by source and recency into a news impact for 190+ stocks, then crosses that with where each stock sits in its 52-week range.
- AlertA stock that newly turns SELL or BUY raises an alert on your desktop and on your phone, with the reasons and the headlines behind it.
What it does
A desktop app that starts with Windows and keeps working from the system tray.
Signals with reasons
Sell alerts and buy ideas, each with a conviction score, the 52-week range, the world drivers involved and the stories behind it.
Live newsroom
Watch each story come in, see which stocks and themes it touches, and follow the local AI's reading.
World drivers
Oil, rates, inflation, tariffs, war and ceasefires, AI capex, China, disasters, outbreaks and more, each mapped to the businesses it helps or hurts.
Market map
Every stock plotted by its place in the 52-week range against its news impact, with the buy and sell zones shaded.
Your portfolio first
Add what you hold and the stocks you're interested in. Your positions come first, and you're warned when one turns against you.
Local AI, optional
With Ollama installed, a local model also reads the headlines. Nothing leaves your computer, and Finad works without it.
Alerts on your Android phone
The Finad app for Android shows your signals, alerts, world drivers and the latest market-moving news, and notifies you of every new sell or buy alert. Scan the one QR code on Finad's Phone page with your phone's camera: it installs the app and links it to your computer. The app updates itself.
How the link works
After each update, Finad on your computer writes a compact feed to textdb.dev, a free public JSON store, under a secret key. Your phone gets a read-only link to that feed, so it can read but never change it, and checks it about every 15 minutes.
What is sent
Signals, alerts, world drivers, headlines, and which of your stocks are flagged. Your share counts and costs are never sent. Anyone with the read-only link can read the feed, so keep the QR code to yourself, and make a new link at any time.
Rules it follows
Runs on your computer
News, prices, analysis and AI all run locally. Data lives in one folder (%USERPROFILE%\.finad).
Public sources only
Public RSS feeds and Yahoo Finance prices. No account, no API keys, no tracking.
Updates you can check
The desktop and Android apps update from this website, and a download that doesn't match its published SHA-256 checksum is never installed.
Not financial advice
Finad's signals are automated readings of public headlines. It's a research tool, not a licensed adviser. Check the sources before you trade.
